Jill Blashack Strahan, Tastefully Simple Founder & CEO, is a top female entrepreneur and an inspiration to countless people across the nation.

Strahan grew up on her family’s dairy farm in rural Minnesota, where she was inspired by her father’s work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

In 1995, Jill launched Tastefully Simple offering high quality, easy-to-prepare foods and gifts. It wasn’t a simple start. Strahan and her young family had a household income of $25,000.

Determined, she bootstrapped the business and within eight years, Tastefully Simple grew to a $113 million company.

Just three years into the business, Jill was rocked by tragedy and was faced with the decision of whether to continue her business. She chose to persevere, using her obstacles to motivate her.
Recognized as an exceptional CEO, she has won numerous awards for her achievements and unique philosophies. Jill published a book about her life lessons and inspirational journey called Simply Shine: Stories That Stirred the Fire.
As a professional speaker, Blashack Strahan has inspired thousands, sharing her stories along with ways to overcome obstacles. Her charismatic and down-to-earth nature make her someone people believe in, and – more importantly – someone who enables them to believe in themselves.

  • We have to look across the landscape of life and ask if we’re being intentional.
    • “What’s the worst thing that’ll happen if I just try?”
  • When Jill was 26, her brother who was 28 died in a fire. This realization of her mortality pushed her to be more intentional in her life.
  • Jill says that she has a “cocktail” of habits that have helped her be successful in life She has guts, is stubborn, and knows how to talk to people. It is important to understand our God given talents and how to leverage those.
  • She says that her first words were “top it” (stop it), and that she bit her dad’s hand the one time he tried to spank them. There show her grit and guts.
  • Jill’s gritty nature of just going through and pushing through has helped her be successful.

    • They came up with 7 core values.
      • Boiled down to 3 principles.
      • What is the law and what is it going to create?
      • Law of Abundancy – Fostering peace of mind through win-win. How do we get there?
      • Law of Magic – Creating positive energy through celebration and excellence.
      • Law of Realness – Building trust through humbleness.

  2. What do you do daily to bring Energy into your life? She devotes energy to her business. She has energy by doing what she loves. If she’s in a funk, she’ll crank music and pray, but never takes herself too seriously.
  3. Share the number one connection that has made the biggest impact on your life? Biggest connection is her faith.
  4. What advice has Influenced you the most in your life? “Everything happens for a reason.” “It’s important to get better, not bitter.” “When in doubt do without.” “Listen to the whisper.”
  5. Recommend a book and share why you love it? The Laws of Lifetime Growth: Always Make Your Future Bigger Than Your Past by Dan Sullivan. Always make your learning greater than your experiences.
  6. Define in one sentence or less, what legacy you want to leave on the world?  “I want to give people hope for the future by helping them think differently and think about what they’re thinking about.
