Mark Ricca is a keynote speaker on building a winning corporate culture, a corporate trainer for Learning Dynamics, Inc., a nationally recognized training company, and provides consulting services to financial institutions, such as strategic plan reviews. Prior to this, Mark was the President and CEO of Municipal Credit Union, NYC’s largest credit union ($3 billion in assets) with 600,000 members and over 700 employees. Previously the President and CEO of First American International Bank, a NYC based Chinese American bank and the CFO at Carver Federal Savings Bank, the largest African American-Caribbean bank in the US. Prior to banking Mark was a lawyer and prior to that worked in finance, audit and sales at GE.

  • Mark’s number one habit is having high ethics.
    • You must always be focused on the recipient.
      • What do they need and how can I give it?
    • Never give up.
      • How quickly do you get back up?
  • Culture is the set of norms of conduct that people agree with and buy into for how they interact and function on a daily basis.’
  • Teamwork and culture are closely connected
    • People need to believe in teamwork
    • Realize that you alone are not adequate to deliver what can be done together.
  • The tone at the top of an organization is absolutely critical in establishing the type of culture
    • You must have leaders that constantly repeat and demonstrate the values, mission, and vision of the company.
    • You must have leaders who make ethical decisions.
  •  Getting everyone to go in the same direction will also help increase your productivity.
  • We are part of something bigger than ourselves so we have an obligation to be full of usage.
    • We all have discretionary energy. The more engaged you are, the more energy you will have.
  • We often think we have communicated with someone because we have said it, but you have to be sure they hear what you are saying.
  • To change culture you have to start with yourself.
    • What am I bringing to the table and what can I do to improve?
    • Hold yourself accountable.
    • Sometimes people can’t hear what you’re saying because your actions are screaming so much louder.
  • We need mind food.
  • Write down the core things that you want to bring to society.
  • What do you want your legacy to be.
  • People don’t forget how you made them feel.
