Ep: 091 Steve Werner

Steven Werner

After running corporate events for years, Steven Werner went out on his own over 5 years ago. He poured his life savings into his first event which got a total of 2 registrants. Steven was left scratching his head and had to move into a friends utility room…
From there he went back to the drawing board and learned everything he could about how to build, fill, and sell at events. He took his last credit card and decided to give it another try.  At Steven’s next event, he filled the room in less than 6 weeks, and made more than $18,000!
Over the next several years, Steven went on to hold more than 41 sold-out events and speak on more than 80 stages. In the process, he was trained by some of the best in the business, including: Russell Brunson, Frank Kern, Dan Kennedy, and Ryan Deis. Steven became passionate about the powerful results and impact from live events, and he made it his mission to help others build phenomenal programs and hold their own live events to sell them.
Steven is now on a mission to help 100 entrepreneurs, influencers, and coaches grow their business by holding a small event for maximum profit and impact in a single weekend.

Show Notes:

  • Steven’s number one habit is having a morning routine.
    • Authenticity and reaching out to people are important to him so when he wakes up every morning he has three questions at the foot of the bed.
      • What can I do to make someone else’s day today?
      • How can I serve people better?
      • Who can I wish joy, peace, and happiness for?
    • On the first side of the sheet he asks himself:
      • Where do I want to go?
      • What am I excited about today? What am I excited about in the near future?
      • How can I make it rain today?
  • True freedom comes from having a routine.
  • Think about the last event you went to.
    • Who are the best five people you met there?
    • You can find a support group at events. Your people are there.
    • The people you meet can directly impact your business.
  • Small business owners should hold small local events.
    • Jumping right into large events does not work out.
    • Small events help you get your message out.
  • People don’t buy products just because of what you’re selling.
    • They buy because they know, like and trust you as a person.
    • Small groups are important because they help people get to know and trust you.
  • People buy based on the outcomes.
  • Know the top 5 objections to your business.
    • Educate people to overcome them and they’ll become clients.
    • People who come to your events are your ideal clients.
  • You don’t have to have a ton of people at your event to have a successful event.
  • The most expensive cost in business is acquiring your client.
